The membership of Local 464A is nearly 20,000 strong and growing in New Jersey, New York and a part of Pennsylvania. We represent men and women who work hard and display professionalism everyday at their jobs in all the major food chains. These chains include: ACME, Foodtown, Key Foods, Kings, Shop Rite, and Stop & Shop. We also represent many other individuals in service related businesses. Our members enjoy excellent wages, outstanding pensions, and all-inclusive medical benefits.

POSITIVE DEVELOPMENTS REGARDING COVID-19 PANDEMIC

All of us are being bombarded by gloom and doom and negative stories concerning COVID-19.  Unfortunately, that’s what sells newspapers and keeps us watching news shows on TV.  There are, however, some very positive events occurring which should raise our spirits and possibly bring this scourge to a swifter end with less loss of life.

A MESSAGE OF APPRECIATION FROM GOVERNOR MURPHY TO ALL OUR SUPERMARKET WORKERS

President Niccollai reported today that the International Union and Local Unions participated in a conference call the other day with Governor Murphy of NJ 
who expressed deep appreciation for the excellent job we are all doing during this pandemic. Today the Governor issued a message which was distributed through our International Regional office.

STIMULUS CHECKS FOR AMERICAN HOUSEHOLDS
PASSED BY CONGRESS

President Niccollai reported today that President Trump is expected to sign the $2 trillion Economic Rescue Plan, which includes stimulus checks of up to $1,200.00 for qualified adults and up to $500.00 for qualified children under 16.

COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) UPDATE

President Niccollai reported that the Local Union is continuing to negotiate Bonus Pay Programs for our first responders working in our supermarkets.  At this time, ShopRite, ACME, Stop & Shop and Kings are all on board with programs.  We continue to negotiate with our other smaller companies.  Please check with your individual Employers as to the specific details of the Bonus Program.

UPDATE ON AHOLD eCOMMERCE (STOP & SHOP) NEGOTIATIONS

President Niccollai reported today that a tentative agreement has been reached between the Company and the Union, which encompasses numerous areas of improvements and monetary increases. We were extremely successful in our fight for Health Care and the need for a generous wage package. In addition, the agreement contains perks for various employees, including bonuses and catchup raises.  Vacation policy has also become more flexible.
