KINGS BANKRUPTCY UPDATE 



President Niccollai reported today that Kings failed to attend the second Multiemployer Negotiating Session yesterday.  It appears that the Company may have fired their Attorney of 32 years who had participated in the first negotiating session.

KINGS BANKRUPTCY UPDATE

President Niccollai reported today that since Kings Supermarkets has filed documents in the Bankruptcy Court your Union is permitted, as a matter of law, to discuss matters which were previously restricted by confidentiality limitations.

Shellfish Spa

              Retailers are doing everything they can to make shopping trips an experience for customers. With the threat of online shopping, supermarket chains are trying out new ideas to increase traffic in the stores. One example of how stores are doing this is with a new display called the “Shellfish Spa”.

The ‘Fiercely Loyal’ Customer

          With all the changes happening in the supermarket industry, it is easy to be swept up in the new technologies breaching the market. Walmart is dramatically increasing the investment in the online grocery department of their chains. In addition, Amazon’s entry into the supermarket industry with its purchase of Whole Foods has some stores worried about upgrading their online presence.
