IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT JOHN T. NICCOLLAI WEDNESDAY, MAY 14, 2025

REGARDING CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS WITH SHOPRITE,

STOP AND SHOP, KINGS, FOODTOWN AND VARIOUS INDEPENDENTS

Commencing on Thursday, June 5, 2025, UFCW Local 464A will be in negotiations with the above-referenced employers regarding a new industry-wide contract.  Your Union Delegates will be visiting the stores in the next week with forms to be filled out by the affected membership concerning contract demands and a request to serve on the contract negotiating committee.  Your Union has found that we receive much greater input and participation by going to the stores with forms rather than by calling a meeting at the Union Hall in Little Falls, New Jersey.

Remember, demands should be for the benefit of the membership as a whole and not something that only serves you as an individual.  Once the demands are collected, they will be formulated into the official contract position of the Union and presented to the companies at the first meeting on June 5, 2025.

The Union will also review the forms requesting to serve as a member of the contract committee and will select those individuals with the best experience and skills that will assist in the attainment of a new contract reflecting our needs and goals in the future.

We anticipate that these negotiations will be difficult and most demanding; so, those seeking to serve as committee members should be prepared for several months of pressure and problem resolution.  Obviously, our purpose is to deliver a new industry-wide contract for our hard-working membership addressing the areas of wages, healthcare, pensions and working conditions.
