COVID-19 UPDATE

 

HAZARD PAY

 

President Niccollai reported today that in response to our demand letter sent to all our Employers concerning the continuation of Hazard Pay (posted on June 1, 2020), we are deeply disappointed to report that our Employers are continuing their plans for the elimination of the pay increase.  That should make crystal clear that Employers have no concern about our outstanding dedication to serving our customers at grave risks to our health and lives.

 

We want all our members to know that your Union is totally outraged by the shabby treatment you are receiving from your Employers after you earned them tens of millions of dollars during this Pandemic.  But, our outrage gets us nothing unless we act with all our resources to get justice.

 

Your Local Union is conferring with our Attorneys regarding arbitration, as well as exploring a legal social media campaign.  Our entire Region, along with our International Union, are working tirelessly seeking a solution which recognizes our amazing accomplishments and does not cause economic hardship.

 

Please be assured that your Local Union will continue to fight fiercely on your behalf.  Even if your Employers have no appreciation or respect for your great service to society, your Local Union does.  

 

You are heroes and don’t deserve this economic slap in the face.
