Stop & Shop Bargaining Update In New England from President John T. Niccollai

STOP & SHOP BARGAINING UPDATE IN NEW ENGLAND
FROM PRESIDENT JOHN T. NICCOLLAI

Our Brothers and Sisters in New England are in the midst of renewing their Collective Bargaining Agreement with Stop & Shop, which has already expired.  The company is playing hardball and is seeking to cut entitlements, benefits, wages and premiums in certain situations relating to current and newly hired employees.

As we of Local 464A know, we will commence negotiations with Stop & Shop and others in April of this calendar year.  We have extended our unconditional continuing support to our Brothers and Sisters in New England because, obviously its the right thing to do, and also because if Stop & Shop is successful in their efforts in New England, we can expect that result to move into our negotiations.

We are asking for your assistance and we are attaching hereto a letter outlining our position and the actions we will take collectively to assist our New England Brothers and Sisters.
