Welcome to UFCW Local 464A! We at your Local Union are pleased to serve you through the many features of this site as well as our daily work at our offices in Little Falls, NJ and Tarrytown, NY.

The membership of Local 464A is nearly 20,000 strong and growing in New Jersey, New York and a part of Pennsylvania. We represent men and women who work hard and display professionalism everyday at their jobs in all the major food chains. These chains include: A & P, Food Basics, Foodtown, Food Emporium, Grand Union, Gristede's, I.G.A., Key Foods, Kings, Pathmark, Shop Rite, Stop & Shop and Waldbaums. We also represent many other individuals in service related businesses. Our members enjoy excellent wages, outstanding pensions, and all-inclusive medical benefits.

Your Union has been informed that ACME Supermarkets still needs to fill a substantial number of positions in each A&P/Pathmark store purchased over and above the present number of employees working in that particular store.  The Company has also indicated that they currently have over 700 resumes on file, which were submitted through your Local Union.

As you are aware, the second round of the A&P/Pathmark Auctions produced limited store sales in our jurisdiction.  We saw Key Foods submit bids for the Getty Avenue Food Basics in Paterson, New Jersey; the Food Basics in Glen Rock, New Jersey; the Food Basics in Fairview, New Jersey; the A&P in Bedford, New York; the Pathmark in Port Chester, New York and the A&P in Harrison, New York.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO A&P/PATHMARK MEMBERS WHO WERE OR ARE EMPLOYED IN STORES UNPURCHASED

Your Union has just received notification from Acme Supermarkets that they are in need of experienced members to complement their existing workforce in the 48 stores they purchased through the Bankruptcy Court.

As we proceed deeper into the takeover of stores by new owners and we get closer to the end of the WARN Notice period for those stores still unsold, we are receiving additional questions from our membership concerning their future.  We will do our best in this article to answer those questions, and give all our members an understanding of our future actions, plans and anticipated fights.  If you still have unanswered concerns, contact Local 464A by email or phone.

The Rumor Mill is rampant again.  Every possible scenario is being presented as fact and, as usual with the Rumor Mill, very little is true.  We will do our best to try and sift through the most important information that is being disseminated.

The UFCW/RWDSU is hosting a special Resource Fair for our A&P/Pathmark union members. Members who were employed by A&P/Pathmark can join us October 2 at Local 464A in Little Falls, NJ.
