STOP & SHOP LONG ISLAND NEGOTIATIONS 2017 UPDATE

Your Local Union Officers along with your negotiating committee met the Company representatives today (6/28/17) and concluded our third meeting. The Company has taken a firm position on several issues that we cannot accept and consider the basis for a STRIKE as follows:

1. Medical co-pay for both full and part-time members.
2. Sunday to be part of the regular work week.
3. The Company refuses to make the necessary contributions to fund both the
     full and part-time pension plans.
4. Overtime pay to be paid only on hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week.
5. Reduction of full-time sick days from 12 to 9 and a reduction of 3 paid holidays
for both full and part-time members.

In addition to these concessions and givebacks the Company is seeking to set lower top contract rates for clerks. The Company is projecting that wage increases will be limited based on the fact that the minimum wage will increase.

Obviously, we cannot and will not accept the Company counter-proposals. The best way for you as a member to help your negotiating committee is to let your Employer know that we are willing to STRIKE before we cave in to these insulting and degrading counter-proposals.
