ACME Contract Negotiations Update - 12/1/16

ACME CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE
FROM PRESIDENT JOHN T. NICCOLLAI
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2016

The Company has notified the Union that they are prepared to meet again tomorrow, December 2, 2016 at 10:00 A.M.  As you know from our last update, negotiations broke off on a bad note Wednesday, when the Company was criticized for not making a meaningful proposal in an attempt to reach a contract agreement.

Although we are meeting again tomorrow, it does not mean that an agreement will be reached.  The Union has set in concrete our most important demands.  We continually stress the fact that we have not had a wage increase in five years, and that we gave concessions on vacations, holidays, sick days and personal days.  A particularly sensitive point is the fact that the Company is still demanding that members co-pay for medical.

At this late date, the facts do not appear optimistic. However, crisis creates opportunities for excellence, and your Committee is determined to bring back an agreement worthy of ratification.

Keep pressure on the Company by letting them know you will not work without an agreement, and that the agreement must address your needs.

We will continue to keep the members informed, and we expect another posting tomorrow as to our current status.
